3 steps program to your dream

With last weeks blog post, it made me realise that time flies. While you cannot be certain of what is going to happen tomorrow, you can easily bet that chances are that you will still be there. This leads to what you truly want to achieve in life. What do you dream about? How do you want to be remembered? What is you truest and deepest desire? Here is the less-than-5 minutes-description / 3 step program on how to reach your dreams.

Step 1

First, find it. That dream that you cherish, that makes you read this blog, that makes you stay up at night, identify it. Find an image that represents it very well. A collage or a friend that has some kind of Photoshop skills can help you out. Put take picture where you spend the most time. Should you spend a great deal of time in your office cubicle, find a place for it. Should you spend long hours in your bedroom studying, then place it there. If you are a BlackBerry/iPhone addict, make it your screensaver. Here is my screen saver as an example. (You are also glimpsing into what is coming next!)

Step 2

When you placed this image, commit you dream to paper. List what is required from you to get there; the time, the efforts, the sacrifice, the money, everything. Next, write on this paper when is your dream has to be accomplished. This is very important.

You now have 2 pieces of the puzzle; materialization of your dream and the knowledge  of which requirements are needed to get it. You are now more armed than ever.  As a bonus and because I appreciate the fact we are together sharing and living this, I will give you the key to start.

Step 3

Plan your dream. Go crazy; build a detailed “Self” business plan. Break it into small manageable pieces and step over those small hurdles. Plan your dream for the next 6 months, year, 3 years, 10 years and more. Work hard at it. Work smart at it. Be flexible in your approach but remain constant in your dedication.  Only your work and dedication can give you what you truly want, no one else can. Take the picture you prepared with you everyday. Let it be the reason why you are ready to commit 10000 hours of your time chasing what you truly want.

I could go on and on about how to get there but goal is to start immediately. Listen to Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingdale  and join a TED community. Put on a fight against the odds and make it public. I am reopening the comments, so please share with me what do you truly want.

Like or +1 for more.
